FP1 officially kicks off the British weekend, with teams and riders focused on getting familiar with the track while managing the typically cold weather of this time of year in England.
Nicola Carraro employs a strategy of three shorter runs, finishing the session in the top 15. Riccardo Rossi opts for two longer runs, ending just behind his teammate.
The practice sessions deliver promising results for Nicola Carraro, who secures direct access to Q2 with an excellent final fast lap, finishing in a strong 10th position.
Riccardo Rossi also shows positive signs, displaying good speed, especially in the first half of the session, despite ending in a lower position. Overall, it's an encouraging outlook for the team as they prepare for the qualifying sessions.
Saturday, May 24th
Saturday begins with mixed conditions, as overnight rain left the track damp enough to require rain tires, at least in the early stages.
This time, it’s Riccardo Rossi leading the charge for the team, finishing in 9th place while focusing on finding the right feeling ahead of qualifying. Nicola Carraro takes a more cautious approach, avoiding unnecessary risks and testing a different strategy, confident in his guaranteed place in Q2.
Q1 offers Rossi his last chance to secure a spot in Q2. Confirming the good pace he showed in the morning, he clinches 4th place, advancing to the decisive session and joining his teammate.
Q2 proves to be particularly chaotic, making it difficult for all riders to set an ideal lap. Nicola manages the traffic well enough to secure 12th on the grid for the race. Riccardo, having expended effort to make it into Q2, struggles more with the traffic but maintains confidence and speed heading into Sunday’s race, regardless of the track conditions..

The Moto3 race, in an exceptional twist, closes the weekend, promising excitement right from the first corners.
Nicola Carraro makes a strong start, immediately gaining two positions and joining the leading group, while Riccardo Rossi, starting slightly further back, begins to strategize his comeback.
The race unfolds in a pack, with Nicola continuing to overtake rivals, climbing to 7th place and becoming a key player in the battle for the front positions. Rossi, on the other hand, steadily works his way forward, edging closer to the top 15 while remaining outside the leading group.
A crash in the lead group momentarily unsettles Carraro, forcing him to run wide and lose several positions. Nicola responds quickly, picking up the pace to regain ground in the second half of the Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Rossi latches onto the group ahead, engaging in a tight battle to break into the points.
The race concludes with Nicola Carraro finishing 11th, completing two more overtakes and staying in touch with the lead pack, showcasing consistency and speed to build on in the coming race weekends. Despite leg issues, Riccardo Rossi finishes in the points, pulling off a couple of crucial overtakes in the final laps, demonstrating resilience in what was a challenging race from the start.
Riders Comments
Nicola Carraro already sets a target for the next race:
"The race was challenging due to the conditions, as there was a lot of wind; starting further ahead would definitely have helped. Nonetheless, it was a group race with some great battles, and next time I'll aim to be even more aggressive. Thanks to the team for working so hard, and we're focused on improving even more for the next race."
Despite his comeback, Riccardo Rossi knows he can aim higher:
"It's been two or three races where the team and I are giving it our all, but I'm struggling to understand where we're going wrong. We'll keep working harder with each race to figure out and address our uncertainties so we can return to being as fast as before. For now, we’ll take these points and start preparing for Aragón."
