Official debut at the Balaton Park Circuit, with the riders immediately focused on finding the right feeling on the new track.
Nicola Carraro and Riccardo Rossi showed strong competitiveness in FP1, consistently lapping around the Top 10. A harmless crash slowed Nicola down in the final moments, leaving him slightly further back.
Nevertheless, positive signs for both: Rossi just outside the Top 10 and Carraro ready to make up ground in the upcoming sessions.
Sun and wind took center stage in the Moto3 Practice session, with a clear goal for the Snipers riders: direct access to Q2.
Riccardo Rossi and Nicola Carraro started off strong, targeting the Top 14 from the very first laps. Midway through the session, Nicola had his second crash of the day, though without affecting the work done. After a quick return to the garage, both riders went back on track in the final minutes, setting their best lap times despite the yellow flags.
Both riders secured direct access to Q2: in the closing stages, Riccardo crashed without consequences, missing the chance to complete the session under the checkered flag, but with the result already secured.

FP2 was used as a fine-tuning session ahead of qualifying, with the goal of further improving the feeling and finding the right set-up for the race.
After Q1, Nicola and Riccardo lined up for Q2 to determine the starting grid of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The session proved challenging for Riccardo Rossi, who was unable to complete a fast lap due to a yellow flag and will therefore start from the back. Nicola Carraro was more incisive: despite facing the same setback, he managed to secure a spot just outside the top 10, showing promising signs for a potential comeback in Sunday’s race.
Domenica 24 Agosto
Sunday morning welcomed the riders with strong winds, conditions that promised a lively race.
Nicola Carraro made a good start, holding his position and immediately trying to stay at the front of his group to keep a chance of attacking the riders ahead. Riccardo Rossi also got off the line well, gaining a couple of positions in the opening laps. However, the pace of the leading group proved too high, progressively breaking away from the second group where Carraro was involved. After several attempts, Nicola managed to complete an overtake, gaining one spot. He tried to increase his pace to catch the riders ahead, but the gap was too wide to close before the checkered flag.
A tougher race for Riccardo Rossi, who fought hard to defend and capitalize on rivals’ mistakes to move forward. Despite his efforts, he finished just outside the points after coming close to the scoring zone in the final laps.
Comments
Nicola Carraro’s simple race analysis:
“Surely I could have done better than P12. Still, I felt good with the bike, though I struggled a bit to find the rhythm in the early stages. Once I found it, I was able to stay very consistent with my laps. In any case, we brought home some points and gathered useful information. Now we’ll take this week off and then head to Barcelona.”
Riccardo Rossi on his weekend:
“This weekend started well, I really liked this new track and managed to go straight into Q2 on Friday. On Saturday, however, I struggled more to find the feeling right from the morning. Today in the race I felt I had good pace, but towards the end I experienced a big drop in the tyres, losing the positions I had gained. Now we’re looking ahead to Barcelona with the goal of restarting positively.”
