The Snipers riders kicked off the Portuguese weekend by being the first to take to the track, focusing on finding the right rhythm while riding solo during Free Practice.
Nicholas Spinelli immediately confirmed a solid pace on a track he particularly enjoys, showing competitive lap times despite some difficulties in the third sector.
It was a more challenging session for Tibor Varga, who initially tried to follow his teammate but couldn’t quite keep the pace. Still, the Hungarian rider ended the session with positive feelings after some setup changes, confident he can make a significant step forward in the next outings.
Practice began with light rain, leaving the track damp and introducing uncertainty around tyre choice. The Snipers Team’s strategy proved to be spot-on, opting for slicks—allowing Nicholas Spinelli to secure direct access to Q2.
Positive signs also came from Tibor Varga, who showed growing pace compared to Free Practice and ended with a strong 10th position.
Rain returned right on time for qualifying, forcing the riders to face the first fully wet session of the season. Varga was the first on track in Q1, showing a solid feeling in the wet and getting close to the top times, although just missing the top 2 required for Q2 access.
In Q2, Spinelli confirmed his excellent form, pushing harder lap after lap and steadily improving to secure a brilliant 5th spot on the grid for Saturday’s two races.
A result that highlights the progress of both rider and team in setup development and adaptation to changing track conditions.

Race 1's six laps begin with a great start for Tibor Varga, who gains several positions in the opening corners, showing strong determination and aiming for a competitive pace.
A more complicated start for Nicholas Spinelli, who loses one position on the first lap, partly due to a jump start from a rider further back, creating some confusion in the early stages.
Unfortunately, Varga's race ends prematurely: while trying to push further and overtake, the Hungarian rider loses the front in a low-side crash. Thankfully uninjured, he is forced to retire.
Spinelli, meanwhile, manages the second half of the race smartly, maintaining a steady pace and pulling away from the chasers in the final three laps. He finishes in 7th place, collecting solid sensations ahead of Race 2.
Another six intense laps in MotoE Race 2 start with a strong launch from Spinelli, who immediately slots into the leading group, showing great determination from the very first meters.
Tibor Varga also gets a good start, staying close to the points-scoring group and managing the early race phases with composure.
In the heat of a battle for the front positions, Spinelli is forced to run wide to avoid a crash in front of him—a quick reaction that helps him avoid contact but costs him some ground to the leaders. From there, Nicholas rides a clever race, keeping up a strong pace and gradually rejoining the fight for the podium.
Meanwhile, Varga continues to improve lap after lap, capitalizing on his consistency and rivals’ mistakes to climb the order. He finishes 14th, scoring valuable points and ending his rookie season in 15th place overall.
Spinelli wraps up a solid and mature race, carefully managing the final laps and defending 3rd place across the finish line. With this fourth podium of the season, Nicholas ends the 2025 championship in 5th overall—confirming a high-level year and reinforcing Team Snipers' competitiveness in the final chapter of MotoE history.
Comments
Nicholas Spinelli not entirely satisfied with his weekend, but happy to close the championship with a podium:
“I’m a bit disappointed about Race 1 because the feeling wasn’t great, but after making some changes to the bike, Race 2 felt much better. Unfortunately, I got caught up in a contact that took away my chances of winning, as the pace was really strong and I even set the fastest lap on the final lap. Still, ending the season with a podium is definitely not a bad result. A big thank you to the Team and Sponsors for their support throughout this 2025 season!”
Tibor Varga reflects on the best moments of his 2025 season:
“I’m happy to have been part of this MotoE season. It was a very tough category, but I learned a lot throughout the championship. I experienced some fantastic moments, like that 4th place in Austria, or when I was running 2nd in my home GP. I especially want to thank the Team for giving me this opportunity.”
