Monday, February 9th
For the first time on track in 2026, the team lines up with Nicola Carraro, confirmed after the 2025 season. Alongside him, young Spanish rider Jesus Rios makes his rookie debut, having already completed the final two races of 2025 with the team.
The first half of the opening day is made difficult by heavy rain, which prevents the riders from taking to the track. Jesus Rios makes an initial attempt around midday, completing a few laps in challenging conditions, while Nicola Carraro waits for an improvement in track conditions.
In the early afternoon, Rios returns to the track as the sole rider, first completing a 6-lap run and then a second run of 8 laps, aiming to build confidence with the bike in wet conditions. Around mid-afternoon, Nicola Carraro also takes to the track, completing his first 5 laps of 2026 on a circuit that is still wet and not very favorable.
The day ends with a total of 20 laps for Nicola Carraro and 28 for Jesus Rios, who brilliantly concludes the first day in third position, the top Honda rider.
Tuesaday, February 10th
Once again on the second day, it is Jesus Rios who opens the action for the team, completing an initial 7-lap run and temporarily moving into second position among the riders on track. He is followed by Nicola Carraro, who goes out a few minutes later for his first morning run, completing 11 laps and provisionally placing third, just behind his teammate. Toward the end of the morning, with more favorable track conditions, Nicola Carraro returns to the track for his second run, followed by Jesus Rios, who completes another 7 laps before returning to the pits, while Carraro goes on to complete a further 10 laps.
The afternoon begins with new attempts from the Snipers riders, who manage to further improve their lap times compared to the morning despite a still wet track. Around mid-afternoon, both riders return to the pits, with Jesus Rios totaling 31 laps overall and Nicola Carraro 37 laps for the day.
About an hour before the end of the test, Nicola Carraro completes an additional run, finishing the day with a total of 51 laps, making him the second rider with the highest number of laps completed on this second day of testing.
Comments
Two days on a wet track were not very useful, but Nicola Carraro’s positivity together with the team is always present:
“It was two days on a wet track, not very useful for getting the feeling back, but I’m very happy to see the team again and spend time together. I can’t wait to start the next tests in Jerez, hoping to find some good days to regain real confidence with the bike.”
First impressions in the wet conditions for Jesus Rios:
“It was two days of rain and wind, but we went out to get some feeling and we’re happy with the work we did. In a few days we’ll be in Jerez hoping to do the next tests in dry conditions!”
